Clarification Comes in The Strangest Places

I decided the other day that I am going to apply to Teach for America. Because I like kids. And teaching. And I still haven't heard back from my potential research job.

I was writing a letter to their selection committee explaining the fact that I like helping people learn and understand things, from whatever point of view makes the most sense to them.

At some point, I took a break to go to the bathroom, where on the wall was written: "A consultant is someone who takes something you understand and makes it confusing."

Ah-HA! So THAT'S why I can't jump on board with all my employed, money-making friends and get a job at a consulting or finance firm! I am completely incapable of that!
