Sneaky

In case anyone monitors card movement at MIT, they would think I am perfectly healthy. I don't drive to work more than twice a week, ever and when I do I go to the gym first thing. Ha. Ha. If only they knew I am actually cutting through the gym on my way from the parking garage to get junk food from the campus convenience store because its a shorter walk. But you only have to swipe the card to get INTO the gym, not out. Laziness WIN!

Gross

I didn't shower today because I didn't feel like it, plus I'll be covering myself in makeup and hairspray later for the dance show so I'll cover any residual dirt. I also didn't bother to change my underwear because A) its my favorite pair and B) I didn't shower...
I also wore the same jeans and shirt as yesterday. I mean come on, everyone wears jeans more than a few times between washings, and the shirt is the publicity shirt for the show tonight! And I have no excuse for this one except that I need to do laundrdy but I also wore the same socks.

However, because I wore my OTHER pair of Chuck Taylors, I feel that this is totally acceptable.

No, I Don't Have Better Things To Do

I just don't feel like posting every day anymore. I sleep probably 60% of most days, and follow my boy around being a doting girlfriend 20% of the time, and the other 20% I split between eating, applying for more jobs, showering, my photo projects, and catching up on 30Rock, Prison Break, and The Office. Note that I am still not working out.

The one fun story I have for you today is that on Saturday, my mom called and woke me up at noon to tell me that she wanted to come up to Boston for dinner and to see my apartment. I was in Hanover. In 3 hours, I loaded the car, took some pictures at Shop Day (DFR), and convinced Paul to come down, too, and skip out on his frat basement for the night. Farmer John has wanted to try out the Hilltop Steakhouse and Butchershop since his Thanksgiving trip to Texas last year where it was recommended to him and his love for red meat. We made it happen, and they brought the kids, too.

It was awesome. I had a filet because I can't eat more than 8 oz. of anything except chocolate at a time and I don't eat red meat very often anymore. We also demolished two onion blossoms and a bunch of IBC Root Beer. The highlights were the placemats - exceptionally thorough cartoons of how and where to slice your cow, and driving the 30 minutes from my apartment with two of us stuffed in the back of the minivan on the floor with sleeping bags because my mother had removed some of the seats.

Then the kids spent the night, and I let them (and Paul) stay up until 2 am playing World of Warcraft because I'm a terrible babysitter. We woke up around 10, which is exactly when we needed to leave to meet my mother halfway - in Worcester - to drop off the kids before taking my College Student back to school to study for his exam (today). I am embarrassed to admit that I actually said the words "If we don't leave NOW, you won't get Starbucks!!". We didn't leave then but they still got their Starbucks (see today's Daily Photo), and because I am my mother's daughter, she was even later than we were.

Running Out Of Ideas

This is how I'm feeling today:

Shunnnnnnnn.

I am running out of things to talk about, not being obnoxiously opinionated and controversial, and being unemployed, and not being a student anymore, and pretending to not know all the awful things that go on in the fraternities of my boyfriend and his roommates. All I'm really doing is photo projects for DFR, reading Obama's first memoir, and writing a few more cover letters.

Any ideas? What do you want to hear about, dear readers? Old family stories like the time I cut off my sister's tail? Or at the very least, call me out for posting Charlie The Unicorn.

Fast Failure

Oops. So much for posting every day this month. I've now missed 11/5 and 11/6. Technically I put that "Placeholder" post in on the 4th, replaced it the morning of the 5th with my feelings on the election, and planned to make another post on the 5th, but was apparently all posted out and busy crying from the run-in with a family member on my opinions in that post. And, y'know, once I'd failed on the 5th, it just snowballed. I'm going to try to keep it going from here, though.

Its Still Summer

At least in some ways. After 8 solid hours of ANTM marathon by myself (with a short break to run 3 miles), B called me and she said she missed hanging out with me, watching trashy TV shows and eating hot dogs. I got really excited and told her "I DID eat hot dogs for dinner tonight!"

She confessed that her plans for the rest of this lovely Saturday night consisted of hanging out with her cat, watching Sex & The City re-runs, and drinking Chianti. I got really excited again and yelled "I have a bottle of Chianti, TOO!" (Thanks, E)

And then I proceeded to finish the rest of my pint of Ben & Jerry's.

My body is begging the school year to start.

Header

In case you were concerned, internet, my header is officially old. I know this.

Unfortunately, I do not right now have the motivation to fix it. I am not taking classes and therefore my sleeping until 10 every day, not consistently working out, not working, not unpacking my new bedroom, playing video games, reading trashy books and eating bowl noodle soup or cereal or hot dogs at every meal is perfectly acceptable behavior. I will be back on top of my life for my "senior" year, beginning this fall.

Also, I made it in Photoshop and the only place I have access to Photoshop is the second floor of Thayer, which is not going to work for me, because it means climbing two consecutive flights of stairs and then sitting and concentrating on something until I leave the room. Maybe next month.
